Juliet Laser Therapy is a hormone-free solution to many common vaginal concerns such as dryness, loss of elasticity, pain during intercourse, genital itching, irritation or bladder leakage. This procedure has helped women across the globe to embrace healthier femininity with a gentle, natural treatment. But when 50-year-old Sharon had an appointment with Dr Andrew Cary about Juliet Therapy for light bladder leakage, she walked away with a different, but very positive, outcome.
My name is Sharon. I’m a 50-year-old woman with one beautiful daughter, Francesca. To be truthful, I’m not afraid of the gynaecologist at all. In fact, I took a break from my career in advertising to launch my own Brazilian waxing and tanning studio in my earlier years, which led me to write a book about – you guessed it – vaginas.
You could say it is my goal to normalise the subject and break the stigma which often surrounds the female reproductive system. After years of treating women, experiencing invasive treatments and promoting my book, I am definitely comfortable discussing the topic.
I was also comfortable talking about my symptoms of menopause – even the embarrassing bladder leakage episodes at the park, the supermarket … you name it! I didn’t think there was anything I could do about it though, so I just started wearing incontinence pads whenever I left the house.
But then I stumbled across Juliet Laser Therapy which was offered by Dr Andrew Cary. I booked an appointment and hoped for the best possible outcome – no more wetting my pants!
As soon as I walked into Dr Cary’s consultation room I intuited a trustworthy, humble persona. He was incredibly professional, calm, caring and knowledgeable… the list could go on!
The consultation for Juliet was straightforward, and the initial examination was both comfortable and painless – unlike many other treatments I had experienced with other gynaecologists throughout the years. Once my internal examination was over, Dr Cary told me – to my surprise – that my vaginal muscles were actually in good shape and that my incontinence was not severe at all. In fact, it was mild.
That meant that I wasn’t a suitable candidate for Juliet treatment. Instead, Dr Cary walked me through the process of managing my condition through pelvic floor exercises and prescription medication. I was prescribed Vesicare, an oral treatment which relaxes the muscles in the bladder, improving my ability to control urination.
It’s definitely worth seeing the gynaecologist about any concerns you might have– we don’t know what treatment is available unless we seek help. I also realised that a quick appointment can bring peace of mind and a great outcome. If only I had seen Dr Cary sooner!
