Gold Coast Obstetrician, Gynaecologist & IVF Specialist
With more than twenty years of experience in private practice as a Gold Coast obgyn (obstetrician-gynecologist), and following extensive training and working in a number of southeast Queensland hospitals, I am a proud specialist and devotee to obstetrics and gynaecology.
Dr. Andrew Cary – Gold Coast Obgyn
As a father of three children myself, I understand both the trials and rewards of parenthood, and I am committed to every partner’s journey into conception, pregnancy and delivery.
I have trained and worked at the Maters Mothers Hospital, the Royal Women’s Hospital, Ipswich Hospital and the Gold Coast Hospital, and I currently practice and am the chairman of the Pindara Day Procedure Centre, which I also founded. I am particularly interested in high-risk obstetrics and antenatal care.
At Pindara, I undertake the following types of surgery, among others:
- IVF egg collection
- Complex embryo transfer
- Hysteroscopy and surgery of the endometrium (womb-lining)
- Laparoscopy
- Tubal Sterilisation
- Endometrial ablation
In 2000, my colleagues and I established Fertility Gold Coast, which is now known as Queensland Fertility Group. Additionally to my chairman position of the Procedure Centre, I am also Deputy Chair of the Pindara Hospital Medical Advisory Board, both that have instilled in me a high commitment to quality care and patient safety and comfort.
Outside of the hospital, I have also practiced as a lecturer and senior registrar in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.
Apart from the above-mentioned positions, my other medical appointments have included being a member and Treasurer of the Queensland State Committee of RANZCOG until 2001, the Chairman of the Medical Records Committee at Pindara until 2006, and being a member and Chairman of the the Patient Care Review Committee of Pindara from 1994 until now, among others.
Not only do I work on the Gold Coast, but I also live in this beautiful environment and enjoy establishing personal patient relationships with like-minded parents-to-be. The Gold Coast is a fantastic beachside paradise to raise children- trust me, I know! So I look forward to guiding and supporting my patients’ in their new and very exciting journey.
